Edwin Coe LLP (England-Wales): Draft Lockdown Release Government Guidance Leak

BuzzFeed News has apparently obtained copies of seven draft guidance documents drawn up by the Government setting out plans for the lockdown release rules of engagement.

Whilst a great deal may change between now and the official guidance expected to be announced on Sunday, it is clear that the workplace is going to change substantially for the foreseeable future and offices are not going to be open any time soon. It is divided into a general‘apply to all’ section and then addresses issues arising in specific workplaces.

There will in any event, be a great deal for facilities and HR departments to get organised, including a full office risk assessment for those with over 5 staff (including the planning of the minimum number of staff needed on site), the installation of screens to protect staff, the development of ‘route maps’ on stairs and in corridors with signage to assist social distancing, reconfiguration of the office environment to prevent face to face working and enable social distancing and the abolition of hot desking.
